Jagged Edge, New Collection.

DRUSY AGATE

Often tiny quartz crystals called drusy form within an agate adding beauty and uniqueness of individual stones. Lapidaries often cut just the drusy from an agate and jewelers use these drusy cabochons as the main stone or as an accent stone in their designs.

When ground water carrying dissolved silica is forced into a porous area of the rock with rapid cooling, formation of tiny crystals occurs on the surfaces or in the cavities of the rock.

Clear crystals often form on top of previously deposited minerals. This result of this phenomenon is called a drusy.

Presenting, Jul B. Dizon Jewellery's Jagged Edge Collection.
