Town & Country, Wonder Women 2011

This September, the Philippine edition of Town & Country celebrates its fourth anniversary by paying tribute to the five Wonder Women of 2011. These women were chosen not only because of their intelligence and character, but also because of their accomplishments in their chosen vocations.

The Wonder Women were recently honored at a cocktail party held last September 7 at The Conservatory in The Peninsula Manila. This year’s roster includes Geraldine Javier, for her work in the visual arts; Winnie Monsod, for her accomplishments in education and media; Josie Natori, for being a pioneer in global fashion; Soccoro Ramos, for her achievements in business; and Rissa Hontiveros Baraquel, for her role as a political activist. Baraquel also graces this month’s cover.

In addition to honoring this year’s Wonder Women, the cocktail party also gathered Town & Country’s list of 101 People You Must Meet Right Now – a product of a sit-down lunch between founding editor Monique Villonco, Lizzie Zobel, Doris Ho, Margarita Fores, and Sevrine Miailhe. Featured in the August issue, the list includes the most notable names in the country, “a compelling selection that ranges from glamorous actors to intellectual and a wide swath of interesting people in between,” says editor-in-chief Yvette P. Fernandez.

The Town & Country Wonder Women event was co-presented by Citibank,
