Mother's Day with Dad.

It's my first time in 37 years to celebrate Mother's Day without Mom. Usually, she would have gone to the market very early in the morning to get the freshest seafood and vegetables. When she gets home, she would tell me to set the table if she hadn't done it herself yet. She would then proceed to the flower market to get her favorites and make sure that the house is filled with them.

She would have invited all her sisters and their families to have lunch at home to celebrate their day.

Dad would be cramming on a gift for her. Pressuring each and everyone of us to get something and fast!!! We never disappointed him. Dad is funny like that.

Before the meal would start, he would hand over a gift wrapped box....and when she opened it, she would say..."Oh how nice!! Make up! But really, I don't need anything".

Always so simple and grateful, Mom appreciated everything she received and took care of it as if it were the most important thing in the world.

This year is different, my DAD has become the center of our attention even on Mother's Day. The family had lunch at the Dusit Hotel and there, we spoiled him with everything he wanted. It's like making up for not having Mom around.

To all of you who have their Mommies, be good to them and show them how much they mean to you.

Your bloggerina and Dad.
