ODE, Collaboration with Manila's Finest.

When one buys jewelry, one automatically thinks of what dress/outfit to wear with it. At least, this holds true for most of my friends and sisters. 

For our Anniversary last month, we decided to give recognition to four very fashionable women of the past. We chose these four according to our own personal style. 

It didn't end with the woman and the jewelry, we had to work with fashion designers who will render the completion of our desired look for the models that will represent the chosen icons. 

Ginny's design embodies the ever-glamorous Elizabeth Taylor. We couldn't think of a better fashion designer than Rajo Laurel.

To go with the formality of the event, Rajo designed a beaded swimsuit, a dramatic matching cape and a turban that brought out the beauty of both the model and the jewelry. It was exactly what Ginny had wanted. 

I have always loved Grace Kelly. I think she was the perfect choice for me because we both share the love for flowers. I asked JC Buendia to work with me because I know how delicate his creations are. Very proper and sweet. 

"Hers is a style aesthetic that I also adhere to. I believe that if she were alive today, she would be attracted to my jewellery designs.”

That's what Janina Dizon-Hoschka has to say about her choice, Wallis Simpson. 

Ivarluski Aseron was clearly the person to work with.

The clean, structured and geometric expertise of Joey Samson is why Lucille chose him to make the dress for "Tina Chow."

Rajo Laurel, Ivarluski Aseron, Joey Samon and JC Buendia also did our clothes for the event.

Lifestyle Asia, June 2011

I was in the US when the June issue came out so when I got back, I had to get my copy of Lifestyle Asia, June issue.

I was so delighted to see a few pages that put a smile on my face!

Dennis Lustico and I were discussing lengthily that this magazine has become an outstanding glossy that provides lots of useful luxurious information.

I was so happy to see a wonderful write up about GREEN COUTURE!

Preview Magazine did it again. It showcased uber chic ladies in it's latest issue where Ms. Iza Calzado graces the cover.

Afraid...

I used to love posting photos of our finished items in my blog. I used to want to show my readers the newest creations of JBDJ online and get ecstatic when I sell them to clients only thru my post.

But now, I am afraid. I know of a few new jewelry stores that I have to be careful with. I have seen photos of pieces that are so close to what we have done that it is sending us designers crazy! The funny thing is, the photos are sent to us thru our most valued and loyal clients. They themselves tell us that it is a bad copy of our designs. Sigh....

But I really really want to show you this piece because I am so in love with it.

Lucille wore it last night to the Ystyle event at White Space, which I am so sad to have missed. You see, it was also my Daddy-O's birthday and I surely can't miss that. Lucille had to go because she is one of the fashionistas that was featured in the short film that I have yet to see. Paging BEA!!! Please send me link!

It is detachable and has a foldable post in the back so that you can wear the bottom part as a stud.

Lucille's Fashion Week

My little sister-in-law, Lucille is whom I have to turn to in the morning when I have "what-to-wear-crisis". When I hastily put something on without much thought and enter the office, she gives me a look from head to toe and shakes her head in disappointment. At this point, I have to go upstairs and change. When she finally gives me the nod, I feel much better about myself and confident that I won't look stupid when I walk into Peninsula and meet my clients.

In her computer, all her bookmarks are about fashion. Blog sites on shoes, bags, clothing and of course, gossip. She thrives in this that I often see OK Magazine in her table. I just borrow after she's done with it.

Anyway, Lucille as some of you might know is not much of a talker. She is very demure, gentle and yes, very quiet. But when it comes to designing, she blossoms and amazes us and her clients on her creativity. Her passion for everything funky but yet classy shows in her creations and her clothing.

I decided to document her get up for 7 days just to show you her style and how she glams up simple clothing into fashion magazine worthy.
