Rajo Laurel pays tribute to his grandmother, Beatriz, for his Holiday 2015 Collection
Rajo Laurel designs his most personal collection yet, dedicated to his late grandmother, Beatriz Laurel. His early exposure to the art form was as a little boy observing his lola’s elegant way of dressing. That vision of his grandmother helped form his brand’s ideology of elegance, romance, and luxury.
Influenced by the extravagance of the 50’s and the youthfulness of the 60’s, BEATRIZ 2015 is a reflection not only of the woman but also of a great decade in fashion. Rajo Laurel takes the classics- full skirts, tweed coats, box jackets, boleros, off shoulder pieces, flowy gowns, and long vest- and infuses it with contemporary patterns. The result is a kind of modern femininity that is beloved by his clients. He leaves no room for restraint as he uses luscious brocades, delicate laces, soft crepes, flowy chiffons, and foam gazar in vibrant colors of the season such as Coral, Ruby, Gold, Silver, Fuchsia, Blue, Berry, and Vine. He leaves minimalism behind as the House of Laurel signature beadwork is evident in this collection coupled with an adornment of jewels, pearls, feathers, and flower appliqués.
Customers will expect a level of exclusivity with one of a kind pieces as the fashion house continues its trademark of one design in eight different fabrications and sizing.
