Royal Mansour, Marrakech.

This post is just about the LOBBY of The Royal Mansour. I feel that it's beauty deserves its solo post. I am sure by the time you finish scrolling down, you would agree with me.

For me, my trip to Morocco last October was about seeing the different hotels in the city, which I love to do. My eyes could not have enough of the intricate details, the extravagance and glamour of the different hotels we checked out.

Royal Mansour is on top of my list, along with Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons and La Mamounia.

Enough talk, let me show you.

The entrance is simple and classic Moroccan.

But when you enter, this paradise awaits.

As you walk along the side of the lobby, you will see little rooms which are decorated so beautifully.

The hallways are different from one another.

The chandeliers are to die for.

I swear I want one of these.

This is the concierge. I know right??????

At the end, you will enter the Lobby bar. The details on the pillars and arch!!!

I believe this is the entrance to the toilets. Imagine that.

Stay tuned for more of my Moroccan trip.

Dar Yacout in Marrakech.

This restaurant is truly a diamond in the rough. When we got off the bus, we were led into a medina. The entrance smelled of urine and I almost wished that I stayed in the hotel to order room service.

We walked further in where there were plenty of peddlers, men who would just stare at us tourists. It scared me. The roads are not even too so if you go, don't wear heels.

The door was opened into this magnificent structure. Every corner, every floor took my breath away.

Lamb, couscous and pancakes for dinner. Truthfully, at this point of our trip, I could not eat another tajine, couscous or any Moroccan dish. My stomach wanted adobo and sinigang.

Open on Tuesday to Sunday.
Closed for lunch.

The Royal Stable, Meknes.

During our Moroccan trip, we had a quick stopover at The Royal Stable at Meknes. For sure it is no longer being used for storage for their wheat and such but it is still very well kept and is very photogenic. It is now a tourist spot but all you really need is about 20 minutes in this place. I think it is absolutely beautiful.

May I just say THANK YOU to Save My Bag for being my official purse for my Moroccan trip. It got so many comments and most importantly, no back or shoulder pain for me. The color pops out the weight of the back is almost nothing. Save My Bag is available in SM Makati.

Morocco, Rabat.

I've got a problem. It's been 2 months since my trip to Morocco and because of my delay in blogging, I have totally forgotten the names of the places that we have been to.

Thanks to Google and Wikepedia, I have the basic information that could answer your simple questions about the place.

This is a medina in Rabat. Inside, a wonderful cluster of homes and shops. It's tight and one can easily get lost so I suggest staying with your group.

It also happens to be one of the locations where Mission Impossible was filmed.

Here's my photo and below it, a car chase scene on the same spot.
(I am such a Hollywood fan)

The houses were painted blue and white. The greens and blooming flowers added to the beauty of the village.

We then had a brief stop at a King's tomb. The Mausoleum of Mohhamed V contains the tombs of the King and his two sons.

The building is considered a masterpiece of moderns Alaouite dynasty architecture, with its white silhouette topped by a typical green tiled roof, green being the color of Islam.

A reader of the Koran is often present, having his assigned seat.

Here I am bothering the King's Guard.

Are these places worth seeing? Definitely!!! The details of the tomb and the old houses in the medina hold so much meaning, story and culture behind them.

Make sure you get a well informed guide because it's important to know what lies beneath.
