Remember when GONUTS DONUTS came to Manila? The line would be a mile long from morning till midnight. People would sacrifice hours of their precious time just to bite into something sweet and new to Manila. And then came KRISPY KREME. The wait was even longer. When the red light would go on, customers and passersby would go crazy just to get a free donut! Now, the lines are gone and it all went to J.CO. My family and I were just talking about this phenomenon this morning. We love taking care of our sweet tooth.
And then came cupcakes....
I believe that I first fell in love cupcakes due to Sonja's Cupcakes. There is also The Sweet Life by Ange and many more opened since then and found its way to Filipino's hearts and stomachs. I try to stay away as much as possible because I hate going to the gym, even if God knows that I need to.
Late last year, another sugary delight opened up in Metro Manila that serves cupcakes and unlike the imported franchises of donuts, this is proudly Filipino owned and of course, I went to see the new cupcake craze that Vanilla Cupcake Bakery has to offer.
First thing I notice is how nice their chiller is! KLAZZ.
If you think it has a similar look to one of the leading clothing brands in the Philippines, then you are right because VCB also belongs to the Kamiseta owners, Gunn and Cris Roque.
Located in Trinoma and Glorietta 4, this super cute cupcake station offers so many flavors that may be enjoyed in their dining area or take out. The cupcakes are in the range of P75.00 to a high of P150.00.
The packaging is adorable but I am not surprised. I only expect the best from Gunn and Cris.
My take out was immensely enjoyed by the Dizon kids.
