Salvatore Ferragamo is Love.

Seriously loving the Women's Fall Winter 2013 Collection of Salvatore Ferragamo.

A few years ago, I felt that this brand is really for my Mom's age bracket. But after seeing the pieces up close, I feel that their collection is something I would love to have in my closet. From scarves to the shoes and bags, I fell in love.

Style expressed through sophisticated linearity. Virtuosities of craftsmanship interpret the research of a perfect line. A graphic taste is represented by the elegance of sleek, ultra-feminine and pointy shapes, matched with thin heels and essential knots replacing the classic clasps with extraordinary balance. Modern models offer innovative combinations of boots, sandals and pumps, mixing laser-patterned leather with a 3D feel, metallic effects, patent leather and the plasticity of PVC. Shoes stand out as solid color blocks and present a sole, heel and lining entirely matching with the upper. The shoe collection is lit up by metallic details, eyelets, applied elements on bootlegs or small bars between the toes that recall the bag collection featuring the Palladium finish.

These perfect hybrids between ankle shoes, straps and pumps unveil sensual proportions of naked skin outlining the leg through mignon closures, while constructed sandals wrap the ankle with a game of leather strips; an embellishment that becomes an essential element of the structure. New pumps combine the mirrored effect of metallic leather with the clear transparency of PVC.

The selection of foulards offers creative and artistic news, suggested with flower and feline prints, classic motifs constituting the DNA of Salvatore Ferragamo. The powerful color palette paints intense hues of Barolo red, black, red, ivory and hints of teal. Absolutely new is the Fun collection. Pictorial appeal for a refined tale of creativity characterized by a modern and conceptual stylistic approach that still keeps alive iconic elements such as the patchwork of the archive designs.

Luxury in an exclusive blend of architectural lines and premium quality hides, molded by exquisite craftsmanship. A refined simplicity of shapes with the consistency of rich and full-bodied materials, conceived to keep the original silhouette of the bags, embarks on a journey through the bright textures of semi-polished calfskin, the more precious shaved pony and glossy crocodile.

The color palette explores a lunar environment with the dark tones of blue -Oxford and Steel- and featuring Pearl and Slate grey and experiencing an elegant silver twist with the New Helmut and platinum. Black and white offer impeccable neutrality.

Precise proportions define the new soft hobo handbags enhanced by leather tassels and new accessories such as Palladium finished keys and lock. Small flat accurately constructed satchels, display adjustable shoulder straps secured by a newly designed clasp, clearly alluding to the Gancio. Semi-rigid geometric shaped tote bags contain the handle in the body of the bag, highlighting it with a thin metallic coating. The new collection features split and crust leather linings that match the outside tones; a defined taste aimed at harmonizing color blocks. Refined top handle mini bags are closed with a lock, and present the zipper iconic detailing and a completely laminated handle suggesting a firmer and more square allure while new flap bags fold in a ton sur ton effect.

I Spy Ferragamo with My Eyes!

I am very careless about my shades. I have had a hundreds of them and they all end up being lost, squashed, crushed and scratched. Right now, I have my one and only LV shades that I am taking care of as if it is my daughter.

When I saw the shades that Ferragamo came out with, I felt the shopping shivers. That means bad for my savings. Maybe I should just pass this on to my favorite sponsor, AG!

The Sunglasses Collection 2011 presents a generous offering of men’s and women’s models that explore new shapes and angles on some of the most representative themes making up Ferragamo’s brand identity.

I don't even remember owning this...maybe it's not mine at all.

Bold forms and softer wrap-around silhouettes co-exist in the women’s models.
Bordeaux, green, brown and dark Havana are the main colours in the plain-colour models, with streaks and unusual juxtapositions of colour being experimented in the acetate models.

One of my favorites that has died on me. Actually, since I am careless with them, I guess I killed it.

One of the themes recurring throughout the Collection is the experimentation of textures on acetate, with meshed and streaky patterns personalizing the full or semi-transparent plastic and also quoting from Ferragamo’s wealth of unforgettable prints.
The 2198B, for example, evokes the elegance of the Sixties by revisiting the frame of a model that became an icon of the period with a rhinestone set in the Gancino motif at the hinge of the metallic temples. The model comes in evergreen black but also in colour versions with the frame streaked blue, brown and grey striped, with tips and crystals matching the colour of the frame.
This one is kaput but it stayed with me for a year.

Tribute is paid in various models in the Collection to the Vara, the Maison’s famous buckle and icon of sober elegance. The sophisticated 2194 has an ample frame with rounded edges, its sobriety subtly counterpointed by a Vara motif on the temples, while the 1196, a wrap-around model, explores the oval form, with partially unframed lenses adorned on either side by buckle-shaped decorations.

The highly distinctive 2196 is characterized by its squarish acetate frame, ton-sur-ton shaded lenses and thin temples with a metal insert and Vara motif. The 1195 is a metallic sister to the 2196, with light, sinuous lines and a rounded frame tracing an airy butterfly-shaped silhouette. It comes in classic silver and gold but also in interesting tones of bordeaux and dark green.

Glamour and sophistication is the recipe in the 1197B, a jewelled wrap-around model characterized by a large Gancino motif spattered with variously coloured crystals on the temple hinges.
The 2197B has a multi-coloured acetate frame with regular oval lenses and is adorned by rhinestone on the metal temples. The 2195 is similarly shaped with larger proportions and bulky acetate temples decorated with a double metallic Gancino motif.

The men’s models have clean, crisp lines that offer a contemporary interpretation of the aviator models of the Seventies.

This one is the one I am currently using.

Ferragamo My Way!

Whenever I see Ferragamo, I remember my Mother. She loves the brand and always boasts of it's wearability and comfort in shoes.

I suppose when I am more mature in age, I would also be a Ferragamo collector. It exudes class that without even trying. In this post are some of Salvatore Ferragamo pieces which I matched with Jul B. Dizon Jewellery.

Please click on photos to enlarge view. Enjoy!

The bags consists of simple and sophisticated forms. Immediately recognizable iconic elements. Such is the aesthetic of whispered luxury.

Salvatore Ferragamo bags speak in a coded language of “gancio” and “vara” motifs. The iconic lines of Salvatore Ferragamo are clothed in soft fur: pony, lamb, mink and lapin. Extraordinary crafting gives bags a surprising 3D look. Lapin inserts look like petals. New bags in exquisite milk, in various shades from white through honey to brown.

This is the season for patchwork, in the finest Ferragamo tradition. Combinations of skins, textures and colors. Metallized leathers, ultra-soft nappas, crocodile and suede in a display of refined craftsmanship. Chic and timeless bags in neutral tones: greys, blacks and browns ignited by red, blue and amethyst. Exotic skins: a practical and contemporary line of fashion items in snakeskin creating graphic effects (rendered even more special by hand finishing on the central “gancio” and handles).

A new collection of bags characterized by a new, stylized metal “vara” motif. Chic and feminine, the new chain mail bags. Signatures in diagonal across nylon shopping-bags define the style of the new day totes – young and appealing.

The grosgrain “vara” decoration (pure Ferragamo) adds a touch of exquisite femininity, in the season’s new colors.

The shoes are clean and sophisticated elegance that rediscovers a taste for pure lines. A new collection of pumps with simple yet ultra-feminine design. The ones that made the Marilyn Monroe style so famous.
An inseparable pair: Salvatore Ferragamo and women’s shoes. A celebration of the “plain pump”, with or without platform, featuring micro-perforations borrowed from the men’s repertory and wooden heels (11 cm of sensuality).

The collection has drawn cleverly on archive material. The “gancio” device merges with the grosgrain in a line of footwear with strong personality. The undisputed centerpiece is an exquisite patchwork model that combines the creative agendas of both bags and shoes, thus giving the accessories collection a precise, univocal identity.

Leather and nabuk inlays joined together with exquisite hand stitching. Exclusive creations: patent leather pumps with embroidered hexagons. The hexagon, in fact, is the new shape this season, decorating the new half-heel (3 and 5 cm) ballerinas. The Audrey continues its success, now in the collection’s new colors – amethyst, amber and amaranth – and in suede or metallized leather.
A revived animalier look, spots all-over prints, with blotches of fading colour in the background and impressive effects of light and depth.

The silk collection has a force of a fantastic, imaginary nature in the feline eyes looking out from the Salvatore Ferragamo foulards. Ferocious beasts reclining on beds of tropical flowers and fronds. These motifs are from the classic Salvatore Ferragamo collection: patterns that are instantly recognizable in their hallmark luxury and femininity.

A refined choreography of butterflies with speckled wings open in flight, against soft and delicately colored grounds. The elegant palette of the season in fact: baked browns, violet, aubergine, warm nuances of grey. Touches of lurex. An absolute elegance of form and color, in scarves stoles and foulards. In the new collection format: a 110 x 110 cm maxi-carré of silk.

These are from the Women’s Accessories Collection Fall Winter 2010-2011.
