Sage Restaurant and Bar.

It's been a couple of months ago since this dinner occurred but with my work, travels, sickness and lazybones, I had to put aside blogging for a while.

Anyway, my gang and I decided to try out the newly opened Sage Tapa's Bar in Makati Shangri-la.
Love how the place looks. On the first floor is the bar with a live band and on the second is the fine dining restaurant that replaced Red.

We started with dinner and tried a few assorted appetizers and of course, steak!

I liked my steak a lot. It was cooked the way I wanted it and the service was superb in the restaurant.

It was a different story at the bar. We could hardly get a server's attention and it took forever to get our drinks. I also noticed foreigners who were allowed to enter the bar wearing shorts and slippers. That was a total turn off.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind going back to the restaurant.

Steak comes with two sidings.

Thank you B.U.Y. for treating us!!

MEGA Pinoy Pride, The Ballroom.

A display of famous TERNOs welcomed the guests. It made me imagine what it was like back then when people used to dress like this on a daily basis.

The table set up is something that my Mom would love. Bravo to the event stylist!

Musikito performed for the crowd. I was hoping that by now, this group would be a little bit better. A year of practice should make a big difference. But it is still good to see kids so dedicated to their music.

The event was hosted by the witty Tim Yap and stunning Angel Aquino.

Manny Poohkyaw shared some laughs with the guests.

Appetizers were presented so uniquely well!

The 5 course-meal was incredible. The way it was styled, cooked and served is something that Makati Shangri-la should be proud of. I have always loved the way this hotel showcases their food. Not only is it beautiful, it is almost always delicious.

Fashion Watch Quartet 2011!

FASHION WATCH QUARTET MAKES A COMEBACK FOR 2011

Standing as a creative avenue, Fashion Watch Quartet continues to be the much-awaited series that brought to the forefront fresh new talent and the most exciting fashion.

JAMES REYES

This year, 2011, marks the revival of Fashion Watch Quartet. The much raved about fashion series is back for good, amped up and better than ever!

JC BUENDIA

Fashion Watch 2011 is a project of the CFDP (Council of Fashion Designers of the Philippines). It will run from February to November, 2011. Each week will feature the collection of one designer, who will have his/her creations unveiled to all through a fashion show held at the lobby area of the prestigious Shangri-La Makati Hotel.

IVARLUSKI ASERON

The series will feature 20 of the country’s most notable designers, each showcasing a brand new collection. Each designer is exclusive to Fashion Watch Quartet; you won’t see their collections on any other fashion show series. Every designer will showcase their Holiday collection early on in the year and a Spring/Summer collection towards the latter part of the year, much like fashion timetables abroad.

JUN ESCARIO

This season’s Fashion Watch Quartet will be featuring the country’s top designers JC Buendia
Jerome Lorico; Len Nepomuceno; Jun Escario; Philip Rodriguez; Patrice Diaz; Gian Romano; Lulu Tan-Gan; Joey Samson; Ivar Aseron; Dennis Lustico; Arcy Gayatin; Oj Hofer; Joel Escober; Ito Curata; Alex Bitong; James Reyes; Ferdi Abuel; Norman Noriega; and Jojie Lloren.

NORMAN NORIEGA

Besides an A-list roster of designers, models, and media partners The Philippine Star, Preview, StyleBible, and StarWorld, Fashion Watch Quartet boasts of industry greats working behind-the-scenes as well, including Patrick Rosas and team as the force behind hair and makeup, Grace Molina as Project Coordinator and Director and Manila’s Prince of Fashion himself, Inno Sotto as Creative Director .

DENNIS LUSTICO

Fashion Watch Quartet is a fashion show series initially created by Richard Tann and Inno Sotto, sprung unto the scene in 1996. Shows were held twice a year and served as avenues for promising young designers to showcase their talent and have their work displayed for all to see. The series not only gained popularity locally and internationally (no less than CNN’s Elsa Klensch featured creations from the shows) but it also became a certified fashion trailblazer.

PHILIP RODRIGUEZ

As Fashion Watch Quartet makes its comeback, it continues to raise the bar and set the trend for how today’s fashion show series should be.
