Sunday Crossover Brunch at TPM with the Londoneras!

Sunday Crossover Brunch at The Peninsula Manila
is all about quality more than quantity...though even with this motto, there's still so much of food to go around.

Buffet. Our favorite word, especially when it comes to the following photos:

Prime Rib (medium rare, please)

Corndogs (catsup and mustard on it, please)

Seafood paella (hot and moist, yes I am talking about the paella)

Can never resist sashimi and sushi.

Fresh from the oven thin crust pizza.

And get this....champagne. Yes dear, champagne for brunch, and bottomless at that.

But wait!!!!

Did I tell you that you may walk over to Spices and have the Thai, Singaporean, Filipino and Malaysian cuisine too?

Lechon is included!!

Seriously guys, there's still so much food that I didn't get to take a photo of but can you just believe me when I say that you must try it out.

But what makes dining even better is when you have wonderful friends around to eat with you!
And that's exactly what I had for the past two Sundays at The Peninsula Manila's Sunday Crossover Brunch.

Rica Peralejo Bonifacio with her son Philip, Donita Rose Villarama and Rajo Laurel.

Julius and Ferdi!

Jacqui, Ivar and Dennis.

Liz Almoro, Sonja Vodusek, Donita and your bloggerina.

Someone took our bags and swore that it looks better on them.

Standing - Tim Yap, Rajo, Victor Aliwalas, Nix, Ferdi, Ivar, Jacqui
Sitting - yours truly, Julius, Liz and Dennis

Thank you The Peninsula Manila for making our reunion such a wonderful one!!!

Please call 8872888 for reservations and details.

Oh, and I almost forgot, All You Can Eat FOIE GRAS.

I rest my case.

Bath, Salisbury and Stonehenge.

My gang and I took a 2 hour tour to Bath, Salisbury and Stonehenge one day out of the 8 days that we were in London.

The scenery was just breathtaking. I wanted to nap but I was afraid that I would miss beautiful spots such as the one below.

Our tour guide didn't explain the vast yellow fields that we passed so I posted it on my Instagram. Thank you for the follower who informed me that they are Canola flower fields.

First stop was Bath.

The color is scary, water is boiling and we are not allowed to touch it.
Now listen, I don't want to compete with Wikipedia about what this place is all about. If you are really interested to know, Google it. I am just here to show you photos.

Ivar and Robby have the wildest imagination when it came to this place. Go figure.

All those shiny glittery things in the water? Coins. We did throw in a couple and made our own wishes. Who knows.....

Where the natural hot springs flow from. It's all beautifully preserved.

Bath Abbey. It's too bad it was closed.
I would have liked to go in and say a little prayer for Mom.

At the shopping area of Bath, we went into a fudge making store and saw this happening. I die.

The outcome. I got me some Seasalt Caramel Fudge Bar.

Next stop was Stonehenge. Now, I have only seen these rocks on television, magazines, postcards, etc...and I always was AMAZED at how this was made 2,000 years ago, I think. I am already convinced it is by aliens. No one can change my mind.

We got dropped off the main area and had to take a tram/bus to get to where these rocks were situated. And when I got there.....I held my breath, closed my eyes for a second and when I opened them...I said to myself.... "Huh? That's it??"

Ok Stonehenge lovers/fanatics, don't hate me. I am still wowed by how it was done but I thought they were much, much, much bigger. The tallest rock is only about 3 times my brother-in-law, Toby.

The gays and I walked around a bit, took gazillions of photos and hoped for the sun to come out as we were FREEZING our Asian asses off. The wind wasn't helping either.

Anyway, it is something to see, true but once for me is enough. Happy that I am able to check it off my bucket list.

And finally, our last stop was Salisbury. We didn't get to see much as our time was quite short. The only place that we went to is the Salisbury Cathedral.

As usual, it is beautiful.

Here's Dennis striking a pose.

Thank you Robby for arranging this amazing experience.

Coya and Carpo.

Located at 118 Piccadilly, Mayfair, London, this
restaurant was on the list of places that Rajo said we should try, and so we did.

It is an underground restaurant that has an amazing ambiance, quite romantic, in fact. Although I think that they set it up for big groups of people.

The beginning of a crazy, yet early night.

After dinner, we all decided to go to Soho to search for some eye candy. Instead, I came upon a shop that sells nothing but chocolate and I just had to go in and check it out.

CARPO is what heaven must look like.

Mountains of chocolate on display, dark, white, milk, with nuts, no nuts, bars, slabs, sticks....you name it, they have it.

I mean, really, who does this to a human being? How can you display such a thing? At first, I thought they were tiles....but they are chocolate! Calling BEN CHAN, can you please bring this store to Manila and make millions of people happy? Thanks.so.much.

This gentleman was ever so kind and patient with all my inquiries about the store. He also happens to have a Filipina girlfriend! Man, we Pinays rock.

If anyone of my readers/friends/family are in London now, please please please bring me home a milk chocolate slab and I promise to love you forever....well, ok, maybe not forever but for a long time.
