J-Storm Urban Map!

Seriously, I don't think I have seen anything this cool lately.

Justin Smith has been a family friend for many years and I know him to have a brilliant mind and an awesome future ahead of him.

My parents would speak so highly of him because of all his schooling and languages that he has mastered. We sort of hoped that my youngest brother, CJ, would be influenced by him since they met in Japan during an exchange student program.

Of course, CJ, has become the Production Manager of Jul B. Dizon and we are equally proud of what he has become but I have to say, Justin, this map of an artwork of yours is beyond awesome.

I wish that you could do one of Manila.

And for all of my friends and followers in the US, you must have this piece in your home because it says something about your roots, your country, your home but in a very artistic way.

I am so proud to know you Justin because not only are you a great friend to the family but because of this great achievement.

Congratulations and here's me clapping.

CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!!!

Watch the awesomeness here.

Nail Rituals Nails It!

My cousin and her husband opened up NAIL RITUALS a few months ago and the Dizon sisters were so excited to try it out. Home service ROCKS!!!

What I noticed was how on time they were. Sometimes, even earlier than scheduled.

When it comes to nails, choices are very very important. The brand, color and kinds of nail polish is like buying candy from a candy shop!

But other than the choices, what really impresses me is the cleanliness of the nail expert. I love the hairnet, the uniform and the name tag. They are also wearing make up and somehow, that makes it more professional.

Here's a few samples of the nail art that they do! FUN!

Best part is how reasonable they charge.

Congratulations Ren and Margaux!!!!

A Million Flowers for Cris Albert.

You can tell that this woman loves flowers. Most preferrably pink. Add glitter to that and also music.

That's exactly what greeted us at Cris Albert's birthday celebration.

Her home was transformed into a garden of pink roses and swans and everything pretty.

It was so filled with flowers that when Ferdi Salvador posted a photo on instagram, I CRINGED!!
Not because of the photo but because I GOT HER FLOWERS as a gift!!
I mean, how can my gift compare to her whole Garden of Eden???

I told Ferdi to give the flowers to Cris and instruct her to place it in the restroom but whatdyaknow??? THE RESTROOM was not spared from being decorated!

I gave up and just hoped that my gift would somehow end up in a vase when she sees them.

This was outside the elevator. As soon as you step out, a flutist and a violinist serenades the guests.

The swan heads were made out of peach faux pearls!!

Pops Fernandez shows off her flower coral ring that I designed for her many years ago!! So nice to know that she is still enjoying it.

On my way out, I stopped for one more photo with the birthday girl, Jenni Epperson and Pops.

Happy Birthday Cris!!! May you have many more to come!

Hermes, Hearts and Crafts.

A few weeks ago, Janina informed us that we were to save a date because Hermes invited her and 3 of her friends to a private screening of Hearts and Crafts.

When we got to My Cinema, we were offered treats from The Peninsula Manila.

Apple Martini, truffle popcorn, freshly made sour and cream potato chips and mini burgers were served.

To celebrate the brand, the roses and popcorn buckets were all orange.

We took the 7:30 pm slot and felt extremely privileged to have been invited to this event. Thanks Janina. Keep shopping!

I LOVED HEARTS and CRAFTS!!! It's a documentary about how the artisans that work for Hermes love their job and that each piece that they create is made out of pure dedication to the brand and the love for what they do.

Such an inspiration.

Loving Lucy!

Remember this set of photos? It was when Lucy designed a few pieces for Jul Dizon and we manufactured them.

It was also the first time that I met Ben Chan.
He actually came to our event and bought something for his mom.

Sara Black took the photos on site and it is the backdrop made by Junjun Ablaza.
Hair and make up by Jerome Chang.

2 years later, we did another shoot with Lucy. This time at the studio of Sara Black. All the gowns are by Dennis Lustico. Hair and make up was still by Jerome Chang.

Just last month, we had another series of photos taken by Sara Black at her studio. Lucy's favorite, Jerome Chang did her hair and make up. Getting together is always filled with laughter but at the end, we always come up with awesome shots!

I can only show you one for now because the others will be used for another event.

This dress is by Rajo Laurel.

Thank you Lucy for being our inspiration in creating beautiful jewellery.
It is because of your beauty, inside and out, that makes it so easy.

Gay Versus Becky's.

Ok.....relax lang kayong mga badings. This is not about you.
I am talking about SANS RIVAL.

Last night, we had a birthday party and when I tweeted about who has the best sans rival, I got 2 answers. Becky's and Gay Vasquez.

So I decided to order both and do a survey with my family who are crazy about desserts.

Gay Vasquez:
MACADAMIA Sans Rival. P950.00, 7 x 11 x 3 inches.
When I opened the box, it was nice and chilled. The macadamia gave it an expensive and more exotic look. We all know how much these nuts are and there was an abundance of it as topping.
When I sliced it, it was crunchy perhaps so crunchy that I made a bit of a mess because of the crumbs.
But once it was out of the box, air did it's work and made the cake chewy and gooey just the way we like it. The macadamia nuts are awesome. Love the combination of everything that makes it....well...Macadamia Sans Rival.

Becky's:
Sans Rival, P750.00, 8 x 12 x 3 inches.
Once I opened the box, I saw an aluminum package covered in clear plastic wrap.
Not very pretty and one of my friends said that PDEA might suddenly come and arrest us because the cake looked like smuggled drugs.

We were surprised to see peanut brittle as topping. I sliced it and this time, instead of a crunchy texture, it was chewy. A struggle with the knife but that's exactly how some people like it, especially Lucille.

The thing is, after you have swallowed the cake and the cream, you are still chewing on the peanut brittle which has a very strong flavor. Therefore the sans rival competes with the taste of the brittle.

We enjoyed both cakes because we truly LOVE Sans Rival but majority voted for

....tan-tararan.........

Gay Vasquez' cake.
Actually, I vote for GV cake too.

Next challenge,
Gave Vasquez' Macadamia sans rival against Delize Pistachio sans rival
I can't wait.

The FARMer in Me.

I was hoping that I didn't have to say anything about this post and let the photos tell you the whole story about my weekend at The Farm but I was afraid you would say that I am lazy.

Actually, I am. After checking out the photos once again, I just want to turn back time and do this weekend all over again.

When I first heard about The Farm, I imagined the worst in the eating department. I was going to eat grass, soya and nuts. That afterwards, I would have to run to the nearest Max's and eat all the fried chicken I can stuff myself with.

But you know what?? I ACTUALLY LOVED the food!!! It's not at all what I feared! They were very good! So good that I am craving for some now. Especially the breakfast cereal. That's my favorite.

Aside from the delicious food, we all loved the scenery, fresh air, birds chirping and friendly staff. And with that said, I will shut up now and show you what you are missing if you haven't been to
The Farm at San Benito.

Thank you to my Yap Family for this wonderful weekend of health, relaxation and joy!
