The new Tod’s Spring Summer 2012 collection is inspired by the lifestyle of its customers. These women lead busy lives and rely on accessories and clothing that is elegant and versatile. The key element here is the hand made craftsmanship, evident in how the rubber sole has been modelled to join with one single piece of leather – expertly hand sewn together to give the sandal the look of saddlery. With these high heels the perfect material to use is benson (half calf), which can be worked to accentuate the lines. Since the shoemaking involved in creating this model is so specialised, the Tod’s Ago comes as a limited edition.

Tod’s has also applied the luxury treatment to its Wedges, a minimal style enriched by a leather sole to create volume, and featuring hand stitched seams and hand made straps. The design of these striking shoes is a triumph of simplicity.

Prettiest Garden Ever!

It's Andie's 1st Birthday and Frankie's 4th. The theme was Garden and the place was filled up with the prettiest butterflies, mushrooms, ladybugs, birds and flowers anyone can ask for.

It was a huge celebration for Andie and Frankie and their parents C and L,

did an outstanding job in hosting it!

I had convinced C to hire Andreas to do the dessert buffet spread. I had to make sure that he does it well because C is my BFFF.

I visited his kitchen and was just in time to taste one of his freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. I love it when the cookies are served warm when the chocolate is just gooey and melting all over the place!

The cupcakes were strawberry shortcake and chocolate!

The ballroom was packed with well wishers and I have to say that the DIZON kids were so happy to have been a part of Andie's 1st and Frankie's 4th Birthday!!!

My gang and I tried out the Barbie by The Pool last Friday and can I just say how good it was?

First, I love the fact that it was outdoors and the weather was kind to us and gave us a cold breeze. The selection was not overwhelming. It was just right and good quality.

We started out with the salad bar. There was also a side dishes bar with corn, vegetables, beans, cheese macaroni and other goodies to go with your meats.

Here's where the mighty have fallen! There was no talk of diet the whole night as we must have gone back 2 or 3 times to get something grilled!

My favorite, LAMB!!! The tenderness and flavor is making me drool as I type this.

Lapu-lapu and salmon!!

Choose your weapon and these guys will grill 'em!

In our table, we all pretty much just ate the mixed fruits.

So how do you prepare yourself for beautiful skin when you are just at home? Here's what I do. I get my girls and tell them that it is facial night.

We wash our faces with Ponds Gold Radiance Cleansing Mousse.

After, we apply LANIEGE Pore Minimizing Pack. (LOVE the smell!)

We use Karuna moisturizing facial mask.

We put on some Ponds Spots Blocking Serum.

And apply Morocco Argan Oil all over our faces and necks.

My baby girl, Jody without make up.

Christel doesn't really need any make up at all.

But with make up, we are ready to conquer the universe....umm, change that to planet. Hmmm, no, humbly speaking, change that to Metro Manila.

What make up I use is another story.

But the skin needs professional cleaning and that's when I go to Skin Inc and see Dr. Windie Hayano.

Turning 7 is not how I remember it to be. I know that having a few cousins in the house with cake and balloons would be enough. Swimming is all we need to do and everything is good! But now, when a kid turns 7, it usually means a big celebration. Actually, 1, 7 and 18 are probably the biggest celebration a kid can have for his/her birthday. I am glad I am done with those numbers.

But when Allison, the only and youngest daughter of Philip and Small Laude turned 7 with Katy Perry as theme, the whole fashion industry were put into action. It was a contest. Best dressed would win tickets to watch Katy Perry live in Manila. Who wouldn't want that? I planned to have my girls have their clothes made by my seamstress but then I realized, wait, Allison is 7. Jacqui and Jody are 15 and almost 19. I didn't want them to be the oldest ones in costume.

Boy, was I mistaken. 50% of the women there were clad in pink, blue and yellow wigs, shiniest tops and eyelashes a mile long! I felt that everyone brought out their inner Tessa Prieto-Valdes in them.

Ok, I will stop talking now.

Yes, people, THE Felix and Grace Ang are having a baby girl. It's such a wonderful gift to the couple and everyone close to them. This baby will be a princess like no other and the parents know it all too well. Which is why we for her baby shower, we were transported to Paris!

It was so organized, picture perfect and simply c'est magnifique! Every corner was beautified that I must have flooded twitter with my instagram photos!

Barbie Pardo did the event styling and I must say that it was outstanding!

The details and workmanship of each decor was superb! Do you know that the Eiffel Tower is made out of rolled newspapers/yellow pages? It was then stacked up to create this wonderful piece and painted white. Do you also know that they are made by prisoners in Navotas? Awesome!

The Navotas City Jail prisoners gave my husband a paper boat as a gift. It was entirely made of recycled PLDT yellow pages and string. We were both amazed at the detail so since then - when he was elected mayor just last election, I've been sending drawings to them to see the possibly of jumpstarting a little craft business for them, so even behind bars, they can earn for their families.

It happened one lunch event at Mandarin Oriental. I sat next to Philip Abadicio and he had asked me if I could work with him on a project for RPAStyle and when we discussed possible layouts, it was definitely a project one would be crazy to say no to.

We wanted 8 hot men but the other 3 that we wanted were not available but the party must go on. And it went on indeed at Martinis Bar of Mandarin Oriental. All was arranged by the kindest Charisse Chuidian and Isabel.

The models came on time and Rhett Eala and Bergamo agreed to work with us including Mikee Raymundo of Make Up Forever and Jinx Aggavao of Maquillage Pro. Filbert Kung and Glenn Perez did the photos and I must tell you that it was great joy to work with such talented people.

I also used Janina for Jul Dizon, Men's Accessories for the shoot which matched the outfits perfectly.

I was shoe shopping in Chocolate Schubar and then I saw something new in the store. They were colorful, fun and reasonably priced. I tried them on....my feet went to comfort heaven. I didn't take it off. Wore it the whole day and when I got home, my feet were happy.

Bling on my slippers without having to pay so much! Perfect!

And then I learned of all the other designs that they have. I can only have too many slippers but I am telling you, these are perfect gifts to your loved ones.

Because Rajo Says So...

CYT, Jasmin and I were looking for a new place to eat. We wanted it to be a bit special and new. Just recently, I read a post in Rajo's blog about La Girolle and CYT also said that Rajo suggested this place to her. We were only too excited to try it out.

It's quite hidden but not really hard to find. I actually like the fact that it is in a secluded place. It makes it more special and with such good food and service, it shouldn't have a problem with customer visits.

We ordered enough food for a small army but none went to waste. We finished everything! It's that good. Thank you CYT for this wonderful treat and to Chef Ian, please be ready because my gang and I will surely be back for more.

Chef Amando Ian Padilla came out to meet his diners. He also explained how some of his dishes are prepared. You can really see the passion in his eyes when he talks about his cooking techniques. BRAVO Chef Ian!

Rockin' THE ROCK BAR!

My final Bali trip post!

So, on our last night in Bali, we went to Ayana Resort and Spa right? I blogged about the magnificence of the hotel but I had to save the best for last. The last post about my Bali trip is about ROCK BAR.

Now, you may be wondering what's so special about this place. Well, let me tell you, everyday at around 4:30 to 5pm, there's a super long cue to get in. And getting in is not as easy as going into the bar, you HAVE to ride a short monorail down the rocky cliff to get to the party place! Amazing right?

Here's a short trip down the cliff. (I should really learn how to mask the voices with music.)

There was a wedding at the chapel and afterwards, they let out hundreds of balloons!!

The three musketeers who did nothing but have cocktails, eat, shop and sleep early.

Lavish Your Skin with Laneige!

About two months ago, I received a gift from AG. He asked, "I hope this is a good brand, the salesgirl at the airport said it is really fantastic." I was glad that he listened to the salesgirl because I have really been wanting to try out Laneige.

A week after, I received a few samples from the ladies behind bringing the brand to the country. My rule of blogging, I can't really post any skincare or hair products that I have not tried and tested. I don't want to recommend anything to you, my readers, if I haven't even tried it myself.

So after two months of using this brand, I have to tell you that my skin has been healthy, tight and healthy. I love the light scent and the texture it leaves on my face.

With my age, it is really best to assist the prevention of wrinkles and blemishes.

I actually can't wait to visit my derma, Dr. Windie Hayano and show her my skin. I know she will be glad that I have been taking care of it with a product like Laneige.

Missing Mom.

As you may know, I love doing garden themed designs. It reminds me of something Mom would make and I just want to make sure that her designs are still very much present even if she's in heaven.

Tomorrow is her 2rd year. Imagine? Two years without her. Up until now, I can't look at her photos too long, I can't talk about her without tearing up and I as I type this, my eyes are getting blurry because of the tears that want to spill.

Dear Mom,

I know you are reading my blog every time I post something. I just want to let you know that this is for you.

I love you and miss you terribly. Be good and don't lecture God too much about how he should eat vegetables. I am sure He knows that already. As for us, we are doing our best to be good with our diet.

And by the way, we are preparing a get together for you tomorrow. Hope you can join us.

There will be plenty, I am sure. But on Dec. 3, my JLC had our first Christmas party for the season. Does the place look slightly familiar? That's because Lawrence and I had our joint birthday party here. We LOVE the place that much and thank goodness we were given the chance to have another get together here.

CYT had The Peninsula Manila cater because she wanted to be stress-free. And that she was because as you know Peninsula caters like no one else. The staff was amazing and the food? Well, see for yourself.

Going back to my Bali/Jakarta trip, I MUST MUST MUST tell you about the most incredible dinner I have ever had. I felt right at home because it was truly meant for ROYALTY!! I am not exaggerating when I say that this dinner is like no other that I have ever had before!

Since it was TR's birthday, as soon as got to Jakarta, we went straight to the parlor to have our hair blown dry while DL went around the mall to shop. DL pointed out what the Indonesian's refer to as simple.

Anyway, going back, we went to a place called LARA DJONGGRANG. After more than a thousand years, the timeless, mystical legend of Lara Djonggrang is now documented into a most uniquely romantic restaurant in Jakarta , the capital city of Indonesia, a city known among connoisseurs for the heat and chicness of its evening life.

Tito Mon (TR's husbandry) reserved a room for us to celebrate the birthday of my beloved Rosette. The waiter offered to give us a tour of the restaurant and the story of how it came to be is astounding!

Once upon a time during the times of the Hinduism in Java, there lived Lara Djonggrang, a princess renowned for her stunning beauty. In during kingdom of Prambanan , Lara Djonggrang's father was killed by a powerful man Bandung Bondowoso, the son of king Prabu Baka. Blinded by her beauty, Bandung Bondowoso madly fell in love with the princess and was determined to marry Lara Djonggrang, whatever it required to do.

Lara Djonggrang vowed not to ever marry the man who had murdered her own father therefore she demanded Bandung Bondowoso to construct a thousand temples for her overnight. Unable to complete this task all by himself, Bandung Bondowoso seeked for the help of hundreds of demons to help him. So when dusk came, they set up to work.

As dawn approached, the demons had completed a large number of the temples at a startling speed. Worried that one thousand temples would be finished by sunrise, Lara Djonggrang aroused her palace maids to begin pounding rice in the barns and to scatter fragrant flowers all over the kingdom. The sound of the pounding woke the rooster who then beganto crow. When the demons heard the noises and smelled the flowers, they mistakenly understood that day time had come and flew away for their lives. At last, they only constructed 999 temples one short of the requirement.

Enraged beyond imaginations, Bandung Bondowoso turned Lara Djonggrang into a stone statue so that she would never be able to love others forever. The story of Lara Djonggrang lives through time, symbolizing a daughter's undying love for her father, finally sacrificing her life for him. The Gods heard the prayers sent by the maidens of the kingdom.

Touched by the story, they sent for Lara Djonggrang to be taken to the heavens, riding on a Javanese mythological lion, where she finally found eternal peace. The stone visualization of Lara Djonggrang on her way to heavens is one of the masterpieces in this beautiful restaurant, as well as a statue portraying her refusal to Bandung Bondowoso's plea to marry him. The artworks presented in this restaurant bring back to life the luxurious romance and ancient atmosphere of Prambanan.

The legend of LARA DJONGGRANG, although still could be heard deep in the lands of Java, remains only as one of the most enchanting, well-kept secrets that has been told only from parents to children through more than a thousand of years, it show each younger generation of the unconditional love and respect a child is to give to his or her parents. In line with its mission to keep alive the forgotten, romantic history of Indonesia , Tugu Hotels & Exotic Spas dedicate the Lara Djonggrang restaurant to become, in itself, a part of Indonesia's beautiful history.

Last week I had a photo shoot for Phil. Star for an article that Bea Ledesma is writing. It was at Sara Black's studio and I was so happy that it was her doing the photography. I decided that I would put on my thick face and ask Sara if she could give me a new "look" for my blog.

This is what I got in the email last night!

I immediately texted her...

"Oh my gawd! Ang payat!" (Thinking that she photoshopped me!)

This is her reply,

"I didn't make you thinner na, I just cleaned up your eye bags, that's all you babe!"

I want a house. I want my own house. A big 5 bedroom house with a pool, garden and a spacious balcony. I want huge fruit bearing trees and lots of flowers in my garden.

And when I get this house of mine, I will take my time purchasing the furniture, accessories and silverware. I will not rush and settle for something that is good enough. I want something that is truly a good and beautiful piece.

It is my house after all, a place where everything will belong to me and my family. I want it perfect.

When I get my house, the first thing I will do is go to W / 17. This is not a joke. I am not saying this just because the owner is a friend of mine. I am saying this because it is what I will do.

POTATO HEAD

The facade of Potato Head is visible from a mile away! It's a wall consisting of thousands of old window shutters all stacked up together to create a magnificent enclosure. It doesn't only take one's breath away, it also raises the desire to see what's inside a hundred fold. A fortress of pure architectural brilliance awaits and only those who are lucky or patient will get to see it.

The entrance in itself will make you shake your head in awe.

Your senses filled with excitement as to what is beyond the small opening.

When you get thru, the hallway welcomes you with another element of surprise. A wall keeps the mystery ongoing as you still have a few steps to get to the main hall.

An eternity pool, a huge manicured garden, lounge chairs, a bar, restaurant, the beach, the awesome music in the background and of course, the famous Bali sunset are all for you to take.

What better way to spend the dusk than with true and wonderful friends.

I know that I am a bloggerina that has too much to say. But in this case, I simply have no words. It is probably the ONLY hotel that I want to stay in when and if I go back to Bali.

OK, I will shut up now and show you the magnificence of AYANA Resort and Spa in Bali.

Now, it might remind you of Shangri-la Boracay but I feel this is twice as awesome.

Coffee at Cafe Bali!

One thing I learned about my 2nd trip to Bali is that you really can't go wrong when it comes to food. Almost all restaurants that I ate at served good meals. Presented well and flavorful, rich with Indonesian spices, the only difference is WHERE you eat it.

One thing you shouldn't miss out on mainly because of the beautiful interior is Cafe Bali. It's a quaint restaurant that makes you feel right at home.

Beware though because you won't be able to stop taking photos of every corner of the restaurant.

Although equipped with 2 air conditioners, the whole place is open air. I say, what a waste of electricity, but hey, whatever makes them happy.

One thing you should know is, NOVEMBER is their height of summer. It was scorching and the heat literally drained me of energy. All I wanted to do is sleep! Best time to go to Bali? AUGUST!

Going back, Cafe Bali serves local dishes, dimsum, soups and all sorts of goodies. It was good enough to satisfy our hunger with a smile on our faces but nothing to write home about.

I suggest coffee and dessert for Cafe Bali. Remember, not all restaurants serve decaffeinated coffee but this one does. Save your hunger for the other places I am about to post.

Reunion at UNION.

Our first night in Jakarta was a dinner at UNION in Plaza Senayan. It is the hottest place to be right now and TR knew exactly what I wanted. First class service and really delicious food. The place was packed! Even though we had reservations, we had to wait around 10 minutes for our table to be cleared up. Apparently, the diners just don't want to leave the restaurant and if I weren't so tired, I wouldn't have wanted to either.

This is what we had.

Salmon that melts in your mouth. The sauce and salad made the dish perfect.

Although they tried to make it look presentable, the TURKEY (seasonal) came out a bit of a mess but once we took a bite, it really didn't matter because it was tender, juicy and oh so yummy!

Foie gras! These two words are heavenly enough.

This dish is actually quite simple but made complicated, in a good way. The noodles and soup taste quite similar to an instant noodle soup such as Lucky Me, Payless, etc.... BUT what made it extra special is the slice of Foie Gras, fresh mushrooms and crackers on the top. Outstanding!

Gotta have them seafood! Seabass with huge scallops! MUST TRY!

What I don't love about it? Although it is open air, they allow smoking inside, even if it is also considered a family diner.
